MealDeck is a recipe management app built and operated by Jason Marsh. It's in active development — things change fast, features ship often, and your feedback genuinely shapes what gets built next. By using MealDeck, you agree to these terms. If something here doesn't sit right, reach out before it becomes a problem.
You're responsible for keeping your password secure. One account per person — don't share credentials. If you think someone else has access to your account, let us know at hello@mealdeck.net and we'll lock it down.
Use MealDeck for what it's built for — saving, planning, and cooking recipes. Don't:
Recipes, collections, meal plans, notes, and photos you create or upload remain yours. MealDeck stores them to provide the service — we don't sell your content, use it for advertising, or share it outside of what's described here and in the Privacy Policy.
When you use MealDeck's AI features to generate a recipe — whether from a description, a URL, a PDF, or a photo — the resulting recipe is added to the shared library by default. Other users can discover it, and you're credited as the contributor.
You can opt out per recipe at creation time, or later from the recipe itself. If you opt out (or delete your account), the recipe stays visible to anyone who already saved it, but your attribution is removed — it becomes an anonymous contribution. The availability doesn't change; the credit does.
By contributing a generated recipe to the shared library (i.e. not opting out), you grant MealDeck a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide license to host, display, modify, and redistribute that recipe within the MealDeck service. You retain ownership. You can stop contributing future recipes at any time by opting out of the shared library.
Paid subscriptions aren't live yet. When they launch:
You can delete your account anytime from your profile settings. Here's exactly what happens:
Deletion is irreversible. We don't keep backups of individual accounts after deletion.
You can leave anytime by deleting your account. MealDeck can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms — but that's a last resort, and we'll tell you why.
MealDeck is provided as-is during beta. There are no uptime guarantees, and things will occasionally break. We fix issues quickly, but we can't promise perfection.
Recipes — whether AI-generated or user-created — are suggestions, not medical or dietary advice. Allergies, dietary restrictions, food safety, and cooking temperatures are your responsibility. When in doubt, verify.
If you believe content on MealDeck infringes your copyright, email hello@mealdeck.net with: a description of the work, the URL of the allegedly infringing content on MealDeck, your contact information, a statement made in good faith that the use isn't authorized, and a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and that you're the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf. We'll review and respond promptly.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of MealDeck will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in St. Louis County, Minnesota.
If these terms change in a way that matters, you'll see a note in the app's changelog. Continued use of MealDeck after a change means you accept the updated terms.
